The majority of archery antelope hunting is done using blinds over waterholes. The blinds are set up in the preseason so the antelope are used to them by the time season rolls around. Another tactic we use will be spot and stalk behind decoys. South Dakota’s archery antelope hunting season traditionally starts the third Saturday of August and goes to the end of September and then opens up again the last half of October.
Spring Hunts April 1- end of May also include Shed Hunting for whitetail, muledeer, and elk
Fall Hunts- November 1- end of November
A hunt at Hell’s Canyon consists of three full days, spread over 4 days. In other words, you’ll have three morning hunts and three afternoon hunts. Plan on arriving in camp by noon, the first day. Following a meet and greet session, your first hunt will start that afternoon. Your last hunt will be in the morning of the fourth day.
